What to See and Do at the Garden

1. Take in nature and enjoy all of the desert plants while you get exercise and hike on the trails.

2. Learn about the plants that are native to Arizona through the documentation on the plants’ plaques.

3. The Agave Collection is truly something special. Agve plants live for many years before flowering, sometimes 40-50 years, and then after they flower they die. One type of agave is the source of tequila.

4.Take time to appreciative the work that goes into maintaining the Conservation Collection. There are almost 170 rare, threatened or endangered plant species from the world's deserts on display here.

5. Through May 30, 2010 visitors can view 18 works from Native American master sculptor Allen Hauser.
